Elegants meets her match with demure sophistication for the fall season. And should we be surprised? Of course not, when designer Jason Wu is at the helm.
Pieces seemed to float down the runway at New York Fashion Week for Jason Wu's new Fall 2014 collection, and we weren't the only ones captivated. With sumptuous silhouettes that skimmed curves in delicious silk, and oversized boxy pea and trench coats, the collection was a divine return to conservative elegance and prestige.

And we're especially adoring the palate, comprised of luxe gray, deep burgundy chocolates, and rich blacks, it's a color scheme flattering to any contemporary minded dresser.
But don't take my word for it. Preview some of the looks here! What was your favorite? Tell me about it with a comment!
What's black, white, red, and furry all over? Why, none other than the DKNY Fall 2014 fashion show this past week during New York Fashion Week.
And what a sight to be seen. Taking a pretty large departure from many of the other collections we previewed during the week from other designers, DKNY went for a supremely edgy, urban athletic twist to her collection for fall.

Massive furry coats, vests and textures, masculine tartan, baggy and boxy silhouettes, and leather, leather, leather made this collection a bold and daring statement. And color? Only the occasional pop of a pink lace dress, and deep midnight hues sprinkled throughout, as it was clear from the theme, that black and white was to reign king. Though I must say, it was gorgeously set with a crimson wall backdrop to enhance the powerful statement.
So as it would seem, clothes for the fall are going to be roomy, comfy, and sporty. Some of my favorite highlights: varsity jackets over leather, oversized camo print trenches, and white flatform ankle boots. And did you see those calf-high lace-up sneakers under dresses?
What do you think of the collection? Tell me all about it!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Whether you're actually celebrating today with a date, friends, family, or just yourself, it's a great day for a smile and to tell someone you love them!
Now, let's get to why you're really here! If you're anything like me, you may have left some (or all!) of your Valentine's Day gift planning up to the last minute! Maybe you don't know what to give your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife/baby-mamma/boo thang and are currently fretting and ready to make a mad dash to the grocery store to get some predictable roses?!
Fear not! I've got a couple unique, and best of all, yummy DIY gift bouquets that you can create in a matter of minutes! There's one for him, and one for her! And with a quick hop down to the 99Cent Store or your local market, these will only cost you about $5 - $8 each! Yassss!
LET'S DO THIS! (Additional Instructional Video at the end)
For Him:
I found this adorbs mustache tumbler at the 99Cent Store (they also have ones with lips if doing this for her). Or just grab a clear vase or mason jar.
Next comes the fun part: fill it with his/her favorite candy!
Don't forget the candy hearts! Got all my candies from the dollar store :)
You can top it off with some glitter hearts (also from the dollar store). Or maybe a little love note rolled up from you?
And voila! How easy was that? If you want to give it a pro look, wrap it up in some cellophane for protection and something for them to unwrap! Again, one roll of cellophane, 99 cents at you know where!

And for her (or any flower loving dude in your life)!
I wanted to create a unique flower bouquet using something other than flowers! I was walking up and down the 99Cent Store isles when I came across these jumbo gift bows in all sorts of colors, and thought, why not?!
For starters, I just needed to create the stem. So I found a pack of wood kebob skewers and some green streamer ribbon (pack of 2 for 99cents) and went to work. Put some glue on the end of the green streamer and press it firmly on the end of the stick.
Then simply wrap the ribbon all the way down the stick, putting a little dab of glue in the center to secure.
Next comes the cool part. The giant bows already have a sticky backing just waiting to be used! Simply peel off the backing, press the stick on the adhesive, and press closed the other half of the sticky.
If you want to add some leaves to the bouquet, and just ties some of that curling ribbon around the base of the stick underneath the adhesive, and curl with scissors.
Next, I took a mason jar and filled it with her/his favorite candy.
Lastly, fill the jar with the flowers that you created, using as many as you want to, and boom! You have one super cute, creative, and yummy flower bouquet.
So which yummy bouquet are you most excited about creating? And remember, if you're celebrating Valentine's Day by yourself, there ain't nothing wrong with making one of these for yourself!

Happy Valentine's Day! Well... almost! Whether you're all about celebrating this holiday of love, or think it's a Hallmarkish kinda cheesy day, I like to celebrate it for one main thing: red!
That's right folks! Red will shine gloriously as the hue of the day, and why not have a little fun and join in the color crash? Best of all, whether you're traversing this day single and oh-so fabulous, or boo'd up with a date, there are so many ways to wear red, it's silly.
For those feeling the love, go big or go home! I love this all red jumper, for example, accented by a gold chain belt and accessories. Gold has a delicious way of bringing out the rich tones of a fire engine red. Plays nice with nude too.
Pop of color anyone? Opt for a bold red statement accessory like a handbag and heels. Looking for something a little softer? How about a vibrant red mini skirt with an oversized grandpa sweater? Squeezably cozy every time.
And what about some patterns? If you're taking an evening stroll somewhere warm and preferably by water (tropics anyone?) then why not super wow your date, or onlookers, by baring some hard earned skin. Yes, those abs you've been doing in your bedroom all winter have already paid off! Matching a revealing crop with billowy patterned pants keeps the look sexy, yet elegant.
And for the chicest hipsters? I love these romantic hippie flowered pants topped with a cozy red cardigan. Pair with a billowy brimmed hat, untucked white button down, and clutch and you're ready for a jaunt both casual and playful.
So what's your Valentine's Day look? Let me know! #SpankieValentine your pics!
