Tadashi Shoji New York Fashion Week Fall 2014

Textures, subtle patterns, svelte silhouettes, and maxi, maxi, maxi!  These words instantly come to mind when describing the subtle elegance that was Tadashi Shoji's fall 2014 collection shown this week at New York Fashion Week.

The collection featured mainly gowns and maxi length skirts, though some midi dresses found their way into the mix as well.  But this collection was decidedly more gently refined than some of the other, more bold collections shown (think DKNY and Kate Spade).  And we love the collection for that reason.

Make no mistake, there are a plethora of pristine, painstakingly perfected details in the textures and cuts of these gowns not to be overlooked, but admired.  The gowns featured lace overlays, and plenty of velvet in black, red, and midnight blue.  But it's the effortless way the gowns skim the figure, and the strategically placed patterns that make this collection truly shine.

What do you think?  Take a look at the photos.  Which piece is your favorite?
