Remembering the Lovely Loulou de la Falaise

Remembering the Lovely Loulou de la Falaise

The lovely and talented muse of Yves Saint Laurent passed away in France this past Saturday at the young age of 63.  She was a beloved fashion icon, known most famously as being the friend and collaborator of YSL.

For 3 decades Loulou de la Falaise designed for YSL, acted as his creative partner, muse, and close friend before leaving to launch her own clothing and accessories line.

Fashion director Hal Rubenstein said of her, “It’s not that she just wore Saint Laurent. It’s that when she wore his clothes and ideas, they had another life. It never looked belabored, it never looked overt. It was always consistently her. She was a true muse—she was the realization of a designer’s imagination and creativity.”

Loulou, you will be missed!
