Y2k INSPIRED SPRING/SUMMER OUTFITS! EASY AF!

Y2K outfits feature heavily in some of our favorite films, television series, and music videos of the late '90s and early '00s. Films like Clueless and Mean Girls, shows like The Simple Life, and music videos like "Bills, Bills, Bills" by Destiny's Child and "Lucky" by Britney Spears introduced us to the Y2K aesthetic. Key features of the trend are crop tops, cardigans, and camisoles, paired with minibags, bandanas, tennis skirts, and scrunchies, in either pink, purple, light blue, or logomania and butterfly prints.

Across all the mentioned pop culture references is a lifestyle that boasts fabulosity and excess. That's because the year 2000 was also when fast fashion as we know it was born. The high street and online shopping took off at the turn of the millennium, which resulted in many of us having way too much stuff. The Y2K comeback in 2020 is not only about the final era of vintage nostalgia, but it's about using sites like Depop, eBay, and Vestiaire Collective to repurpose the mounds of clothes from the early aughts into fresh, sustainable outfits, says PopSugar

UrbanOG is embracing this style era comeback and are loving every minute of it.  Here are some OOTD inspirations for your next look.  Got your Y2k vibes outfit ready?  Make sure you post on Instagram and #loveUOG for a chance to be featured on our page

1. Put A Butterfly On It: A huge 2000 trend comeback is flirty butterflies. The girly glam of it adds a nice touch to any outfit and is a feminine touch to your look. Pair a butterfly top and shorts with a faux fur sandal to complete the look!

2. Bold Prints: This season let's have a lil fun with our prints and Y2k fashion definitely embraced it. We love ZEBRA print! Pair a bold print bottom like zebra with cropped top and platform chained sandals for a chic easy fit.

3. Pink on Pink: Get your Barbie Girl fantasy on with a pink ensemble. Baby pink and all shades of bright neon pink will be huge this Spring/Summer, so if PINK is your favorite color this is your time to go all out! Pair a matching pink set with a fluffy sandal and clear rhinestone accessories for the full fantasy!
