Y2k INSPIRED SPRING/SUMMER OUTFITS! EASY AF!

Y2K outfits feature heavily in some of our favorite films, television series, and music videos of the late '90s and early '00s. Films like Clueless and Mean Girls, shows like The Simple Life, and music videos like "Bills, Bills, Bills" by Destiny's Child and "Lucky" by Britney Spears introduced us to the Y2K aesthetic. Key features of the trend are crop tops, cardigans, and camisoles, paired with minibags, bandanas, tennis skirts, and scrunchies, in either pink, purple, light blue, or logomania and butterfly prints.

Across all the mentioned pop culture references is a lifestyle that boasts fabulosity and excess. That's because the year 2000 was also when fast fashion as we know it was born. The high street and online shopping took off at the turn of the millennium, which resulted in many of us having way too much stuff. The Y2K comeback in 2020 is not only about the final era of vintage nostalgia, but it's about using sites like Depop, eBay, and Vestiaire Collective to repurpose the mounds of clothes from the early aughts into fresh, sustainable outfits, says PopSugar.

UrbanOG is embracing this style era comeback and are loving every minute of it.  Here are some OOTD inspirations for your next look.  Got your Y2k vibes outfit ready?  Make sure you post on Instagram and #loveUOG for a chance to be featured on our page!

1. Put A Butterfly On It: A huge 2000 trend comeback is flirty butterflies. The girly glam of it adds a nice touch to any outfit and is a feminine touch to your look. Pair a butterfly top and shorts with a faux fur sandal to complete the look!

2. Bold Prints: This season let's have a lil fun with our prints and Y2k fashion definitely embraced it. We love ZEBRA print! Pair a bold print bottom like zebra with cropped top and platform chained sandals for a chic easy fit.

3. Pink on Pink: Get your Barbie Girl fantasy on with a pink ensemble. Baby pink and all shades of bright neon pink will be huge this Spring/Summer, so if PINK is your favorite color this is your time to go all out! Pair a matching pink set with a fluffy sandal and clear rhinestone accessories for the full fantasy!

WINTER Nail Polish To Pick For your Next Manicure!

As we prepare for the cold weather festivities on these seasons many might find it is time to change up their looks a bit to fit the cool-toned climate. This Winter stay ahead of the trend and accentuate your most valuable accessory, your hands! We at UrbanOG have looked through runways and street style to curate the trendiest unique nail polish colors you can rock to blow everyone's cozy socks off this cold weather time. See below and even match your favorite color with complimenting shoes depending on your Winter activity.

1. Silver Obmre: This glam style is very easy to emulate, you will need a clear top coat and chunky silver glitter you may choose a different glitter color for variety. Add the chunky glitter to the tip of the nail applying the product opaque on the tip of the nail and gradually thinning it out on the ends to create a gradient effect. This glam style can be worn casually or if you are going our on New Years style it with a sparkling heel to match.

2. Mix and Match Trend: A chic but statement look very on-trend this year is the mix and match nail colors, simple paint each nail a different color that is complementary to each other. You may use a color wheel to find colors that complement each other or show an inspo to your nail artist. This style goes well for an everyday style.

3. Red French Tip: What is more classy than RED. Such a versatile color that works well on most skin tones. Adding a nude base with a red french tip will make your nails appear chicer and put together. Pair these nails with a hint of sexy shoes to match.

4. Emerald Green: Festive and fun, not a color that most people choose for their nails but can actually look very flattering. We love the warm rich tones of this emerald green by itself or adding a bit of holo green glitter on some accent nails will make it pop even more. Wear with a chic monochromatic black outfit and some combat boots for an edgy-cool transformation.

Trend Spotting 2020: Faux Leather Is So Chic!

"People would laugh hysterically. But boy times have changed and you see faux leather in everything from fashion, furniture, vehicles, upholstery, and everything in between. Lets’ breakdown the definition of faux. What is faux leather? Faux Leather is also called PU, PVC and also Vegan leather all the same to me. However, according the so-called experts there are a few differences. Faux leather is fabric in nature. Its artificial and treated which gives it the texture as well as the appearance of real leather. The entire product is man-made and doesn’t harm any animals in the process.  With the increasing trend of rejecting animal products for ethical reason, faux leather has gained an immense amount of popularity globally. “They say it doesn’t matter how the animals are being raised or how leather is being tanned. Like fur, leather is simply something no one should buy or wear”. Well, this is another topic and will take more energy to discuss.  Faux leather is definitely the go to material for fall and winter. Its a trend you need to add now. I mean, faux leather is all over the place and so many designers are incorporating it in the new designs and trends.  Not too long ago, I would only see leggings, and biker jackets like this one or this. But now faux leather is all the rage from tops, to shoes, to skirts to trousers, paper bag pants, and more. I’m so happy to see how much we have to choose from!" States, Arrayoffaces. Here at UrbanOG we carry a vast majority of trendy faux leather footwear and accessories to complete your look, check out the chic'est ways to style faux leather below.
