2013 Met Gala Red Carpet Recap!

This week was the 2013 Met Gala, one of fashion's biggest celebrity nights!  And the theme for this year?  "Punk: Chaos to Couture."  With such an edgy theme, one didn't know what to expect, but the night certainly delivered!

From Anne Hathaway's new blonde mohawk and seriously sexy-sheer dress (seriously, doesn't she look amaze craze?) to Madonna's naughty fishnet tweed ensemble, to Nicole Richie's snow white locks, this event kept onlookers drooling, and fashion critics ablaze!

Bold Spring Trends Unleashed!

Happy first day of Spring everyone!!!!!

We are so excited, not only because the days are getting longer and warmer, but because Spring fashion is finally in full bloom, and there are so many bold new trends emerging, we couldn't wait to show you what's hot this season!

The days of pastel florals, cork wedges, and leggings under dresses are out (well, not entirely, but they are for this post) and bright leather, peplum, and citrus hues are in, in, IN!  And rather than us doing the blabbing about what fresh new styles to try on, we thought we'd take some cues from fav fashion stars like Anne Hathaway, Solange Knowles, Miranda Kerr and others about what to try out this season.

We'll take our first cue from Anne Hathaway, who sported some daytime sequins in this nude number straight from Nina Ricci's runway.  What do you think of glitz in the afternoon sun?

Next, Chloe Moretz awes us with a bright and uber attention grabbing eyelet sundress in citrus yellow, straight from Simone Rocha's runway collection.  Opting for black accessories takes this into a modern, more real life existence for the actress.

Let's not forget about cutouts, which will play a huge part in the Spring sex appeal department this season!  Gweneth Paltrow looks absolutely stunning in this sexy-yet-elegant Michael Kors design, tailored to just below the knee for a more cocktail friendly look.

And what about leather?  Leather can work for any season you can throw at it, especially in bright hues which take the bite out of the traditional dark look it has.  Just ask Blake Lively, wearing a lovely Isabel Marant leather mini in a bold, blood orange color.

Oscar's Best Dressed on the Red Carpet

The 85th Academy Awards has finally come to a close, with the whirlwind of fashion on the red carpet at the Dolby Theater, to the finishing guests appearances from the big winners the following day on talk shows galore!

And what we're happily left with are the amazing shots from the red carpet of our favorite stars.  So who was an Oscar worthy hit when it came to "the dress?"  

Well, with the trends spanning the gamut of pastels, glittering metallics (hello! Naiomi Watts!) and vibrant reds (didn't Sally Field look uh-may-zing!), there was plenty to swoon over.  So we picked out some of our absolute favorite looks, from Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence's cloud-like dreamy Dior Haute Couture gown, to Jessica Chastain's stunning gold Armani Prive, and recent standout Kerry Washington's old Hollywood glamour.

Anne Hathaway’s New Short Pixie Haircut!

You may have already starting hearing the buzz over the newly anticipated film “Les Mis” which is set to release in December.  And adding to that buzz is the hair shocker new style on Anne Hathaway!

Playing the ole of Fantine, Miss Hathaway debuted her new chopped off do in New York this weekend.  Anne has been the source of much hair inspiration over the years with her long, luscious brown locks, so this extremely short pixie is quite an extreme change for the actress. 

But Spring, after all, is a time for new and fresh beginnings!  We think she looks tres chic!  What do you think?  Would you ever make such a dramatic change to your look?
