(photo: Tiffany & Co.)

Have you ever noticed that the holiday season in New York seems just a little bit more magical than other places throughout the world?  People walking around all bundled up, snow falling on the ground turning it into a beautiful white sea of bliss, and of course the major department stores go full out decorating their storefront windows.

So I guess we could say, the holiday season is officially in full swing, now that we can see you taste of these beautiful storefronts. Shops like Tiffany & Co. who created a three dimensional seen inspired by the upper West Side, Bergdorf Goodman creating a delicious icy spend with several storefronts seems, Lord & Taylor's sweet tribute to memorable family traditions, and Barney's New York and many others.

So take a whimsical trip down the streets of New York City, enjoy the beautiful sites created for the holidays, and maybe, just maybe, it will motivate you to visit the city for a first-hand look.

Christian Louboutin Paints the Town Red

Christian Louboutin is painting the streets of New York, all the way to Pairs, red.  Well, not just any red.... Louboutin red to be exact!

There aren't really other heels that have a supremely recognizable signature the way a pair of red bottoms do.  Women and fashion forward men's eyes flock down to the ground when they spot a glimpse of the hue, and Home Depot's everywhere get a continual flux of those who desire the signature mark, but can't afford the couture price, asking for a can of "Louboutin Red!"

I just caught this video on YouTube by accident, but thought it was adorable!  I shows the very squeezable CL in a small shoe shop, with a line of fashionable women stretching down the road.  They wait eagerly as he hand paints, one by one, a pair of the ever-famous nude pumps.

Once put on, they leave cute little red footprints everywhere the woman travels.  All down the streets of New York, and across Pairs, into Saks Fifth Avenue, announcing the arrival of Christian Loubuotin to their stores.

It gave me a smile this morning and hope it does you too!

Saks Fifth Avenue Transformed Into Holiday Movie!

The holidays are here!  Can you believe it?  I swear, it feels like I was just dipping my toes in the sand at the beach in a tiny bikini, and now I'm bundled up, sipping hot coco, planning Christmas gifts and parties!

Time does fly, and this year, Saks Fifth Avenue wanted to capture the holiday season in a truly spectacular manner, by transforming their New York flagship store into a movie screen.

Sounds crazy right?  That's why we love them!  Last night the store became a movie screen for their holiday windows unveiling for a 2 minute film called "Snowflake Spectacular."  They created an unbelievable 3D effect using 6 projectors, and included windows that looked like they would open and close to the beat of music.

It truly is a work of art.  Watch the video and tell us what you think!
