Spring Fashion Trend: Minimalism How To

One of my favorite spring fashion trends this year, and really any year, is chic minimalism.  It conveys a message of sophistication, simplicity, elegance, and a level of polish that is actually quite easy to achieve.  Video of this look in action at the end! 

This is one of those looks where less truly is more, and you don't have to worry about blending color palates, as this look generally consists of white, black, and neutral tones.  So today we look at my new favorite head-to-toe statement:  wearing all white.

When working this look, think clean and simple.  I chose this strapless body suit not only because it is all white top to bottom, which automatically makes you look taller and thinner, but for its prime fit silhouette.  When you're wearing all white, my advice is to shoot for looser fit layers, as white tends to highlight bulges if worn to skin tight!  Yikes!

Avoid the temptation to add a pop of color to this look.  That would draw all the attention, and negate the very essence of minimalism.

Instead, opt for white accessories with metallic details in gold or silver, and the same goes for your shoes.  And for the ultimate chic-ness?  Make those shoes heels rather than flats!  

Keep your makeup and hair sleek and simple, and you've built a stunning look in no time at all!  Love that!

David Beckham in Swimwear. Need I Say More?

Honestly, I could leave this post completely void of words.  I mean, who of you are even reading this right now?  There's a photo of David Beckham, nearly in the buff, wearing a tiny little pair of white swimsuit bottoms.  So really, who's reading my words?

In case you are... stop!  Haha, no just kidding.... Well, as I see it, any day is a good day when David Beckham takes off his clothes.  Heck, one photo can make the entire week better!

So here are the newest gems from the new H&M campaign just rolling out, featuring the gorgeous 38-year-old sports wonder boy in all his tattooed glory, posing in trunks, swim shorts (God bless em) and boardshorts, shot by Glen Luchford (thank you thank you!).

I won't fluff this post up with any more details about the hemline, fabric, stitching, or where the fabric came from... but I will tell you that it's quite possible these photos will be on mammoth display as larger than life images at a few stores, if their former campaign has any say in it!

The Colors of Spring Fashion

Spring is officially in full bloom, and so are our fashion options.  Just like the weather seasons, spring fashion is a time where we can depart from the freezing cold hues of subdued gray, earth tones, and blacks, and step into more vibrant colors that enliven our spirits.

And true to form, the runways were ablaze with fiery red, deep cobalt blues, surprising Emerald greens, sunlit yellows, and of course, a few gorgeous pastels.  So whether you're wearing some color from head to toe, with minimal accessories, or incorporating it as a pop statement wardrobe piece, color can really do wonders to add energy not only to your overall look, but your mood as well. One of the reasons why I truly love incorporating color into my wardrobe.

So what are the main hues to take a look at? Well of coarse vibrant red is one of the most popular choices for springtime.  But don't shy away from equally bold hues like yellow, which looks wonderful when worn head to toe, and my personal favorite color of the season, cobalt blue. Cobalt blue can actually work as a statement piece that replaces the little black dress for evenings out.

And let's not forget the beautiful softer side of spring, by wearing some pastels. Lavender is a gorgeous tone for most any skin type, and blush colored tones have also made a huge statement on the runways.

And perhaps the most tried and true color of spring? Mint. We love mint. It works well with other pastel colors, can be punched up with blue tones, even works well with softer reds, and of course some yellows.

And don't be afraid to try and unexpected color like emerald. You don't often see this color incorporated into wardrobe, which makes it a wonderful statement piece when you do.
