Giorgio Armani Fall 2014 Runway Fashion Week

(photo: Imaxtree/Yannis/Vlamos/Indigital)

Demure, casual, elegant.  Three words that appropriately describe the new fall 2014 collection from prestigious designer Giorgio Armani.  Debuted this past week during the rounds of fashion week, the collection features chunky, cozy knits paired with satin skirts, loose billowy silhouettes, free flowing wide cut suits, and plenty of gray, olive greens, and a dash of sparkle.

The collection features far more ready-to-wear pieces than some of the other designer counterparts, which most fashion connoisseurs can appreciate.  Forgiving silhouettes, casual booties and heels, and slouchy shoulder bags add an element of playful comfort to the ensemble, both surprisingly day street and also office friendly.

Though some of my personal favorite moments in the collection came in the later section, where tops, wide leg pants, and demure gowns came flowing down, ablaze with shimmer, glitz, and sparkle.  Making a stark contrast to the knits and canvas of the introductory pieces, the glamour made its presence known in evening ready pairings.

So which is your favorite moment from the runway show?  Take a look at the photos below and tell me in the comments!

Jason Wu Fall 2014 Collection NYFW Runway

(photo: Anthony DelMundo/New York Daily News)

Elegants meets her match with demure sophistication for the fall season.  And should we be surprised?  Of course not, when designer Jason Wu is at the helm.

Pieces seemed to float down the runway at New York Fashion Week for Jason Wu's new Fall 2014 collection, and we weren't the only ones captivated.  With sumptuous silhouettes that skimmed curves in delicious silk, and oversized boxy pea and trench coats, the collection was a divine return to conservative elegance and prestige.

And we're especially adoring the palate, comprised of luxe gray, deep burgundy chocolates, and rich blacks, it's a color scheme flattering to any contemporary minded dresser.

But don't take my word for it.  Preview some of the looks here!  What was your favorite?  Tell me about it with a comment!

DKNY Runway at New York Fashion Week

(photo: Jeff Bachner/ for New York Daily News)

What's black, white, red, and furry all over?  Why, none other than the DKNY Fall 2014 fashion show this past week during New York Fashion Week.

And what a sight to be seen.  Taking a pretty large departure from many of the other collections we previewed during the week from other designers, DKNY went for a supremely edgy, urban athletic twist to her collection for fall.

Massive furry coats, vests and textures, masculine tartan, baggy and boxy silhouettes, and leather, leather, leather made this collection a bold and daring statement.  And color?  Only the occasional pop of a pink lace dress, and deep midnight hues sprinkled throughout, as it was clear from the theme, that black and white was to reign king.  Though I must say, it was gorgeously set with a crimson wall backdrop to enhance the powerful statement.

So as it would seem, clothes for the fall are going to be roomy, comfy, and sporty.  Some of my favorite highlights:  varsity jackets over leather, oversized camo print trenches, and white flatform ankle boots.  And did you see those calf-high lace-up sneakers under dresses?

What do you think of the collection?  Tell me all about it!

Tadashi Shoji New York Fashion Week Fall 2014

(photo: Frazer Harrison/Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week/Getty Images)

Textures, subtle patterns, svelte silhouettes, and maxi, maxi, maxi!  These words instantly come to mind when describing the subtle elegance that was Tadashi Shoji's fall 2014 collection shown this week at New York Fashion Week.

The collection featured mainly gowns and maxi length skirts, though some midi dresses found their way into the mix as well.  But this collection was decidedly more gently refined than some of the other, more bold collections shown (think DKNY and Kate Spade).  And we love the collection for that reason.

(photo: Frazer Harrison/Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week/Getty Images)

Make no mistake, there are a plethora of pristine, painstakingly perfected details in the textures and cuts of these gowns not to be overlooked, but admired.  The gowns featured lace overlays, and plenty of velvet in black, red, and midnight blue.  But it's the effortless way the gowns skim the figure, and the strategically placed patterns that make this collection truly shine.

What do you think?  Take a look at the photos.  Which piece is your favorite?
