MIX IT UP! Add a splash of color to your outfit

Have you seen our latest video staring Spankie Valentine all about color combos?
If you haven't take a look:

The easiest way to make sure you're not clashing? Take a spin on the color wheel! No seriously!

Colors across from each other on the color wheel are called complementary and are very visually appealing when paired together! Or pick three colors that sit next to each other to the color wheel- like yellow, green and blue. You can always dare to think out of the color wheel but this is a great tool for when you are thinking of what you could wear with a new outfit!

So in case you need more outfit inspo- here's a little bit more:

Looking to add a bit of color but don't want to splurge on a new outfit? Make your accessories and shoes the pops of color over a neutral top and jeans. We loved these cranberry heels- they are perfect for fall and can easily be worn casually or dressed up. Turquoise and other natural stone jewelry is on trend and compliments those heels perfectly!

Love denim jackets but stumped on how style them other than over denim? Try layering it over a dress or jump suit. Really want to know how to make them pop? Pair them with denim's bff, tangerine! Tangerine and blue perfectly compliment each other by bringing out the best in both shades

Mixed prints have been all the rage for the past few seasons but it can be kind of challenging to find to prints that compliment and don't clash. The easiest way to pull of this trend? Keep it simple. This black and white outfit makes it a no brainer. Also stick to the classics- polka dots and stripes are simple prints that pair together perfectly . Other easy combos herringbone/stripes, stripes/hounds tooth, plaid/polka dots.

So what do you think? Are there any other color combos you like? Will you be mixing patterns? Let us know in the comments!

The maxi shirt is a long length top with slits to your waist line or highlow hem to waist. It pairs perfectly with leggings or skinny jeans and is an ultra edgy twist on the maxi. Best of all its a non brainer into the fall.
Speaking of which, the traditional maxi may not seam like it but you can totally wear your maxis into the fall and even winter.

So what do you think of the maxi trend? Will you try it out?

SIX boots to fall for this fall

So you have probably noticed the back to school displays popping up in every office supply store near you. Maybe you've noticed there are less than 100 days until Halloween. ( aka it's time to get on organizing that clever group costume) Or maybe you are just super psyched it's nearly pumpkin spice season. Whatever the case, it's unavoidable; fall is coming!

We are stocking and restocking all of your fall essentials as the summer comes closer to an end. This includes our best selling boots!! Lets face it, boots rule fall-winter. So here is our little boot buyers guide.

Our picks for the glam girls:

Favorite quote: "I woke up like this".
Current jam: “Problem” featuring Iggy Azalea- Ariana Grande
Never leave home without: Contouring

Why wear flats when you can run in heels? Heeled boots like these are the perfect statement piece for fall/winter. Pair them with your finest statement jewelry and clutches. Face it, your fab and your boots should be too.

Our picks for Elegant eclectics:

Favorite quote: "I'd rather be at a music festival ".
Current jam: “Brooklyn Baby” Lana Del Rey
Never leave home without: Something vintage

You are an original. Your style reflects you and only you. Combat boots are a classic that perfectly reflect your no conformist attitude. Cut out booties are the perfect new trend for you to try this season. Similar to combats, these booties will make the one of a kind statement you crave.

Our picks for Classic chic chicks:

Favorite quote: "A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous!"
Current jam: "All of Me" John Legend.
Never leave home without: A little black dress

You love fashion.. a lot but you like to keep it simple. Ridding boots and lace up booties are two classic trends that never go out of style that can be dressed up or down. Perfect for the gal with limited closet space, these two styles are super versatile and can be worn for seasons to come.

So what do you think? Which style of boots are you planning to wear this fall?

Giorgio Armani Fall 2014 Runway Fashion Week

(photo: Imaxtree/Yannis/Vlamos/Indigital)

Demure, casual, elegant.  Three words that appropriately describe the new fall 2014 collection from prestigious designer Giorgio Armani.  Debuted this past week during the rounds of fashion week, the collection features chunky, cozy knits paired with satin skirts, loose billowy silhouettes, free flowing wide cut suits, and plenty of gray, olive greens, and a dash of sparkle.

The collection features far more ready-to-wear pieces than some of the other designer counterparts, which most fashion connoisseurs can appreciate.  Forgiving silhouettes, casual booties and heels, and slouchy shoulder bags add an element of playful comfort to the ensemble, both surprisingly day street and also office friendly.

Though some of my personal favorite moments in the collection came in the later section, where tops, wide leg pants, and demure gowns came flowing down, ablaze with shimmer, glitz, and sparkle.  Making a stark contrast to the knits and canvas of the introductory pieces, the glamour made its presence known in evening ready pairings.

So which is your favorite moment from the runway show?  Take a look at the photos below and tell me in the comments!

Tadashi Shoji New York Fashion Week Fall 2014

(photo: Frazer Harrison/Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week/Getty Images)

Textures, subtle patterns, svelte silhouettes, and maxi, maxi, maxi!  These words instantly come to mind when describing the subtle elegance that was Tadashi Shoji's fall 2014 collection shown this week at New York Fashion Week.

The collection featured mainly gowns and maxi length skirts, though some midi dresses found their way into the mix as well.  But this collection was decidedly more gently refined than some of the other, more bold collections shown (think DKNY and Kate Spade).  And we love the collection for that reason.

(photo: Frazer Harrison/Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week/Getty Images)

Make no mistake, there are a plethora of pristine, painstakingly perfected details in the textures and cuts of these gowns not to be overlooked, but admired.  The gowns featured lace overlays, and plenty of velvet in black, red, and midnight blue.  But it's the effortless way the gowns skim the figure, and the strategically placed patterns that make this collection truly shine.

What do you think?  Take a look at the photos.  Which piece is your favorite?

Herve Leger New York Fashion Week Fall 2014

(photo: Joe Marino/New York Faily News)

Bodycon, bodycon BODYCON!  Our fall season wear just got displayed, and it's all about the feminine form!  At least, according to Herve Leger.

New York Fashion Week is in full swing, only 3 days left (boohoo) and we have been gobbling up the sights and drooling over the new collections that have come triumphantly marching down the runway.  Our latest muse?  Herve Leger's Fall 2014 collection.

(photo: Joe Marino/New York Faily News)

Composed of his signature bodycon dresses, and even catsuit, Herve Leger's collection was accented with bold fur coats, velvet textures, jeweled metallic enhancements, and knee length details.  Some skirts swung, some clung, but all were gorgeous.  Add in some seriously body flattering angles, patterns, and cutouts, and you've got THE dress for every woman who wants to feel classic and sexy this fall.  We're especially loving the citrus hues mixed in with the more traditional nudes and blacks for fall.

Take a look at the pics from the show.  What do you think of the collection?
