Trend Spotting: 00’s Fashion

As you know history likes to repeat itself and with Fashion, this has always been the case. What can be a better decade to relive than the ICONIC 00’s! If you grew up in the 2000’s you probably won't surprised to hear that the decades fashion trend are once again popular. Yes I'm talking about the teeny tiny handbags and thin strappy sandals that we all use to rock. When the 2000s kicked off, the fashion was profoundly influenced by technology. In the years 1997–2000, there was a monochromatic futuristic approach to fashion, with metallics, shiny blacks, heavy use of gray, straps, and buckles becoming commonplace. This was called "Y2K fashion". The apparel was made to be as dark, reflective, technological, and as sexy as possible. When the original iPod was introduced in 2001, the earbuds, as well as the gadget itself, became something of an accessory for early adopters(and still now with air pods). One trend you can definitely see today is the hair clip and barrette trend fashionably popularized by Paris Hilton and other 2000 celebrities along with cargo pants. These trends can definitely be seen by one glance on your Instagram feed with influencers sporting baby tees with a strappy sandal and a tiny handbag. Come take a stoll down memory lane and get in the now 'cause we got inspiration for what is the latest 2000 fashion you should be including in your wardrobe now! What's your favorite 2000's era trend? Make sure you #LOVEUOG on Instagram with your look and you might just be featured on our page bby.
