2018 Golden Globes - Time's Up

2018 Golden Globes was not just an award show this year. This year award show was used as a platform for the women of the Golden Globes to send a loud message about the abuse and harassment by the powerful men in the industry. The "Time's Up" campaign had the celebrities wearing all black to make their statement.

Louis Vuitton's New Collection!

Honestly, if I were to choose one designer collection coming in the fall that actually epitomized fall, it would be this one:  Louis Vuitton!

And what timing!  This past week market the debut collection for Louis Vuitton by designer Ghesquiere, who has taken over the fashion house after Marc Jacobs exit.  And the new era looks pretty glorious.

Ghesquiere was quoted as being on a quest for timelessness, and honoring the LV legacy.  His fall 2014 collection demonstrated classic A-line silhouettes, fall friendly hues of deep blue, camel, taupe, olive, and highlights of gem tones.  Leather made an important feature to toughen up classically feminine cuts, and the traditional LV luggage was scaled down to mini trunks, something we could all carry around daily.

Marc Jacob's Leaves Louis Vuitton During Paris Fashion Week

I can hardly believe it, but the time has come.  Marc Jacobs has officially left his role at Louis Vuitton, going out with a glorious bang at his final show for the brand during Paris Fashion Week.  Hard to believe, but Marc Jacobs had been with Louis Vuitton for 16 years, leaving to dedicate himself to his own label.

And though the end has arrived for his time of design at the esteemed fashion house, he didn't fade quietly into the night... he left us with a dark and whimsically wondrous final show.  Some may have felt like the show was arranged like a funeral, with classical music, all black and navy garments, a black fountain and navy and black sheepskin catwalk.

But it was very fitting for a very Jacobs led Vuitton show.  So rather than mourn the retirement of MJ, we're celebrating with some images from his final LV show, as we're pretty sure we'll be seeing plenty of him in the years ahead.

Michelle Williams Models for Louis Vuitton!

Ok... I need a moment.... like for real... How gorgeous does Michelle Williams look?  Seriously!  I can't stop marveling at just how beautiful the wonderfully talented actress looks in this new campaign!

We shouldn't at all be surprised that miss Michelle Williams is now the front face of Louis Vuitton's new fall campaign, after all, she does happen to love the brand during those "all-eyes-on-me" red carpet moments.

Showcasing the newest W handbag design (which deserves it's own post!) she looks both haunting, dark, and innocent all at the same time.  The deep red lips, classic.  The almost black polish, stunning.  And that pixie... perfection!

Cannes Film Festival Fashion!!!

Oh. Em. Gee!  That’s nearly all I can say after seeing some of the spectacular dresses lining the red carpet at the 65^th annual Cannes Film Festival.

Stars flocked in glamorous droves to Cannes France for a chance to celebrate, honor, and view some amazing films from all genres.  Cannes is particularly special in that it really gives filmmakers a chance to showcase their work to a global audience.  And not only that…. But the fashion is insanely fabulous!

Here are some of my particular favorite stars in some seriously killer gowns.  I’m nearly drooling as I write!  Which look is your favorite?

Hands down one of my favorite dresses.  Diane Kruger just looks breathtaking in this sea foam, one-shoulder gown by Giambattista Valli.  It's like a gorgeous sea creature whimsically coming to life.

Eva Longoria never fails to impress, and this Marchesa gown with stunning tulle train does just that.  It's timeless, elegant, and effortlessly feminine. 

I love Freida Pinto's strapless Michael Angel gown for it's beautiful crystal sweetheart bodice, gathered waist, and slit-to-there leg baring draping.  Just the perfect amount to highlight those killer Louis Vuitton silver strappy sandals!

Jessica Chastain went for an understated elegance in one of my all time favorite designers, Alexander McQueen.  The pale blush hue is a magnificent compliment to her porcelain skin and radiant hair.

Last but not least is the always fashion forward Tilda Swinton, who looks amazing in her architecturally pleated Haider Ackerman gown.  I love the pale bronze hue, and the sharp lines around the peplum inspired waist.  Awesome!
