An Oprah Tour of Kendall and Kylie Jenner's Closets

These days, celebrity and reality TV are common place elements in the everyday lives of millions, whether you're addicted to tuning in to your favorite nightly show, or living your life in front of the cameras.

Oprah, the queen of talk show TV, recently went on a tour of Kendall and Kylie Jenner's closet. In case you don't totally recognize the names (which we doubt at this point), they are the 2 younger siblings of the Kardashian clan. Yes my dears, the Kardashians are raising an army of reality TV offspring.

Kendall and Kylie are in their young teens, and are already being called the next fashion icons and models.... I'm not really sure if being born into celebrity makes a girl a bona fide model, but eh... that's what they go by.

Oprah's closet tour revealed some interesting things that she herself commented on throughout the video: these girls have it all. I get the feeling that O was bothered by the instant material wealth the girls have at such a young age, asking them questions like "do you have any interest in school at all" and "you're the new modern girls, we can have whatever we want."

Kendall & Kylie Jenner Cover Teen Vogue's March 2012 Issue!

This just in! Kendall and Kylie Jenner have nabbed a spot on the cover of Teen Vogue for the upcoming March issue! In this exclusive preview, the rising sister duo look super cute--and age appropriate--in their fresh-faced cover looks for the magazine's spring fashion issue. Kendall wears an eclectic lime number while Kylie sports a bright fuchsia pink shift dress, both perfect fits for jumping into spring! 

Whether you're a Kardashian lover or hater, this family is definitely still taking the fashion world by storm. As the rookies of the Kardashian empire, Kendall and Kylie--16 and 14, respectively--are making names for themselves as burgeoning "it" girls of young Hollywood. And although they've both been featured between the pages of Teen Vogue, this is their very first cover feature--way to go girls! With a tween jewelry line and reality t.v. series of their own all in the works, it's clear that the Kardashian-Jenner biz has no plans of slowing down. Hot Trends for 2012

Happy New Year everyone!  Whether your getting busy with new resolutions, or still recovering from the long weekend, slightly in denial that a new year has even arrived (where did the past 6 months go?!), one thing is for sure, fashion is on the move!

We all know fashion can be a bit impatient for the season changes, and we’ve got a list of what looks like will be some of the hottest trends to come out in 2012.

Pleats!  Pleats!  Pleats!  Did we mention in an earlier post that retro would be big?  We’ll also see the return of sheer skirts (wow), green leather, bold tights, pastels and the return of Euro conservative, and orange galore!!!

Prediction: Orange to be 2012’s Color Of The Year!

Color says a lot about an individual, and is the basis for that canvases that create our fashion.  Every year Pantone announces the next year’s top color based on what they predict consumers will need and want.

For 2012, orange is the hue of choice!  Pantone studies runway shows, consumer habits, pop culture and fabric shows in their decision. 

Leatrice Eisman, the Pantone Color Institute’s executive director said recently, “There’s an element of encouragement with orange…that we want to move on to better things.”

That works for me.  Will you be shopping this vibrant hue?

Dancing With the Stars: The Final Showdown!

So after a long hard battle, the final sparring between Dancing With the Sars winning hopefuls has arrived!  Tonight is the first of the 2 night finale event of Season 13, where the 3 couples, Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke, Ricki Lake and Derek Hough, and JR Martinez and Karina Smirnoff will dance for their two stepping lives!

The competition is fierce, but not as fierce as the fashion, which as you may have guessed, is typically why I would tune in. 

So let the battle begin!  Who do you want to win the mirror ball trophy?

Inside Kim and Khloe Kardashian’s Closet

You may or may not follow the juicy details of the Kardashian’s lives on their reality show, but there are always elements that have gone secret until now… their closets! 

Kim K, freshly married and just having aired a 2 part wedding special, one of the most asked questions at the moment is how they plan to mesh their lives together now that they’re moving in together… what viewer’s really want to know, is how’s a fashion girl like Kim going to part coveted closet space to fit her new acquisition?  Perhaps she doesn’t!

Kim Kardashian bought a house where she converted one of the guest rooms to a closet sanctuary, and we’ve got some photos of both her, and her sister Khloe's closets! Enjoy!

MTV VMA’s – What Everyone Wore!

I know that yesterday’s blog was dedicated to Beyonce’s revealing of her pregnancy on the MTV Video Music Awards, and that I showed snaps of what she wore.  But I wouldn’t be doing the event, which is as much about visual stimulation and fashion as it is music, justice without also blogging on some of the wardrobe highlights spotted on the black carpet.

Selena Gomez looked ravishing (and revealing) in a short-to-long (major trend alert) lace Julien MacDonald dress with an equally revealing back.  The simple updo really underscored the elegant high collar.

Britney arrived a little more understated than I expected in a Moschino romper, paired with black patent leather Gina booties.  The every curvy newlywed Kim K rocked the show in a floor length silver sequined Kaufman Franco frock.  Heads up, silver sequins are definitely the Fall trendy buzz words.

I thought Kelly Rowland was one of the highlights in a gold detailed dress with feathered skirt by Falguni & Shane Peacock.  She added spiked Christian Louboutin pumps to finish the look.  And Miley Cyrus looked pleasantly mature in a dress by one of my personal favs, Roberto Cavalli. 

And of course, Jo Calderone (aka Lady Gaga) made “his” televised debut suited and booted by Brooks Brothers.

Kim Kardashian Sues Old Navy for Lookalike Model

 Kim Kardashian, who seems to always find a way to be the main topic of conversation in celebrity gossip has yet another reason to be the trending topic of tabloids. Kim Kardashian is now suing Old Navy for capitalizing on her image without giving her a cut of the profits. Old Navy has tweeted of the campaign: “Breaking News!! @CBSNEWS reports that Old Navy’s Super CUTE star looks like @kimkardashian. #LOL. What do you think?” Kardashian thinks the ad has cost her $20 million out of her pocketbook which is the amount she is suing for. The lawsuit, which the Kardashian legal team alleges that Old Navy found someone who looks almost exactly like Kardashian, model Melissa Molinaro, to fool the public into thinking that she was working with them.

 The “Super C-U-T-E” ad itself says “This is real life/I’m not posing for a magazine,” and then goes on about her day, getting a root canal and being followed around by paparazzi. In response, Old Navy stated “Hey, we were just having a little fun with a ubiquitous topical reference.”

Kardashian Kolors

Remember that rumor a few months ago about the Kardashians collaboratng on a nail polish line with OPI? Well if this is the first time you’re hearing about it, get ready because it’s happening! But instead of a collaboration with OPI, they are collaborating with OPI’s little siter brand, Nicole by OPI and the line is called Kardashian Kolors.

The Kardashian sisters minus Kim, met with magazine editors yesterday to give everyone a sneak peek at the line. Khloe tweeted, “Wow just had the most amazing lunch for our Nicole by OPI line with fabulous editors of so many glam magazines! #Dreaming”. Of course, the Kardashian sisters had a little fun working on such a project. The names are as ridiculous and silly as they are. Kourtney’s orange-red is called “Kourt is Redy for a Pedi” and Khloe’s steel blue is called “Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam”. We’re not quite sure when the line will be available but as with anything they lay their hands on, we’re pretty sure more news will be coming soon so stay tuned!

Kim Kardashian Engaged!

For those who haven’t heard yet, Kim Kardashian just got engaged to 26 year old New Jersey Nets’ Kris Humphries that she has been dating for six months. Humphries was a McDonald’s All-American in 2003 and Utah’s first-round draft choice in 2004.

According to People Magazine, it was a rose-petal engagement, literally. Humphries bended knee and spelled out “Will you marry me?” in rose petals at Kardashian’s home on May 18. “I didn’t expect this at all—I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.” Of course, what’s more noteworthy is Kardashian’s 20.5-carat diamond engagement ring from jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz. Yep, you read that right. Just to give you an idea, the golfball-sized ring on Kim’s finger is worth an approximate $2 million. Take a peep at this rock on Kim’s finger on the cover of People Magazine. Congrats to Kim and Kris! There are no wedding plans as of yet but I’m sure we’ll be hearing about it real soon!

Kim Kardashian As Cleopatra

Kim Kardashian photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar magazine was shot with a Cleopatra theme to pay homage to Elizabeth Taylor, wearing the original yellow-tone robe from the movie, seen below. Along with the robe, Kim also posed in a few modern-day dresses with her Cleopatra make-up and head dress. Besides the leopard Dolce & Gabbana dress, I have to say Cleopatra never looked so good in this dark Salvatore Ferragamo gown highlighted with a gold belt. On top of her photo shoot, Kim had the pleasure to interview Elizabeth Taylor herself. With questions about her six husbands, diamonds, perfume line and more. Kylie Jenner Solo Photo Shoot

Back in November of 2010, photographer Nick Saglimbeni took these beautiful photographs of Kylie Jenner. Kylie as seen on Keeping Up with the Kardashian, is the youngest of them all. At the age of 13, already following in her older sisters’ footsteps, launched her modeling career with her first solo photo shoot. This young faced beauty, models in a black mini-dress with a gold metal belt cinching in her tiny waist, one-shoulder full flowing gown and a bright flair red skirt and a crop leather jacket. She's looking absolutely amazing!
