Tyra Banks Modelland is New York Times Best Seller!

As if Miss Tyra Banks’ career wasn’t impressive enough, supermodel, actress, TV host and producer, she can now add New York Times bestselling author to her long list of accomplishments. 

Miss Tyra, creator and judge of America’s Next Top Model, debuted her novel “Modelland” recently which not only topped the Barnes and Nobel charts this week, but landed #2 in the New York Times Children’s Chapter Books chart.

The book is far more whimsical and almost majestic then people might initially think.  With character and country names like 'Digeridoo' and 'Cappucina' for countries, and 'Bestosterone' for a male model academy, and the protagonist ‘Tookie De La Crème’

it is definitely a youth read.  But many boast of it social commentary and life lessons. 

Either way, it is part of a coming trilogy, and all signs point to full steam ahead for its success.  Bravo Tyra!

Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2010 : On the Runway

One of my favorite designers showed a delicious preview in Paris Fashion Week.  It’s beloved French designer Jean Paul Gaultier, and his Spring 2012 collection is effortless and divine. 

Gorgeous dresses, revolutionized takes on the classic trench coat and stripes stunned the runway, as he added his signature playful side of tattoo print tights and oversized corset belts. 

To enhance each look, he added chunky shoes, studded chokers and layered necklaces.

The New iPhone 4 Has Arrived!

Ok ok, I know what you’re thinking… this is typically a fashion blog.  But I’ve always been a firm believer that fashion comes in all forms, and technology is one of the sexiest forms I can think of. 

On Monday, Steve Jobs introduced the new iPhone 4S and tech lovers everywhere couldn’t be happier.  Touted to be the finest smartphone in the world, the new iPhone 4 will be 24% thinner than the previous 3S model, and has four times more resolution from the former, reaching 800/1 pixels on it’s 3.5 inch screen, versus the 326 of earlier phones.  That’s almost as many pixels as it’s lovely sister, the iPad.

The phone also now as a newer, larger battery capable of 300 hours in standby, 40 hours in music mode, 6 hours on 3G. 

But this fashion doesn’t come cheap, a 16 gig will cost $200 with a 2 year contract, and a 64 gig costs $400.

Catherine Middleton’s Wedding Dress Breaks Records!

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge just broke a record!  Well, her wedding dress did at least…

The Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen design worn by Kate was held on display at Buckingham Palace from late July until yesterday, October 3^rd, and earned over 600,000 visits from people all over the world.

A rep from the Royal Collection commented that it was easily a record and, We were thrilled to welcome people from all over the world and delighted it has been such a huge success.” 

And just where else do you think this dress will make a glorious appearance?  Well…. Er…. At the moment… in storage.  But fear not, you can always revisit it in photos while eagerly awaiting its personal appearances again.

Jason Wu for Target!

After the massive instant sell out success of the Missoni for Target launch, the red and white has landed on it’s next celebrity designer, Jason Wu. 

This Spring, the beloved designer will release a more affordable line of clothes, handbags and scarves.  The line will fall between $20 and $60, and will launch online February 5, 2012.  In an interview with WWD he remarked, “it was very interesting for me to translate my signature touches into a more affordable collection without compromising quality, design, and sophistication.” 

We’ll see how he did, but with the likes of Michell Obama and Diane Kruger in his devoted fan corner, we’re sure he’ll dazzle us just fine!
